Richard W. Clement is Professor and Dean of Libraries at the University of New Mexico. Previously Clement served as Dean at Utah State University from 2008-2014. Before going to Utah in 2008, Clement was head of special collections at the University of Kansas and Professor of English. He edited the journal Mediterranean Studies from 1987 to 2003 and RBM: A Journal of Rare Books, Manuscripts, and Cultural Heritage from 2003 to 2008. He has written two books: The Book in America (1996) and Books on the Frontier: Print Culture in the American West, 1763-1875 (2003). Clement serves on the Board of Governors of the HathiTrust, is a member of the IFLA Standing Committee on Government Information and Publications, and has recently served on the Executive Board of the Western Storage Trust, the Steering Committee of the Scholarly Publishing and Academic Resources Coalition, and the Board of Directors of the Greater Western Library Alliance.
