Two years after successfully transitioning from a shared storage facility to a jointly managed shared collection of 12 million items available to all member libraries, the ReCAP consortium (NYPL, Columbia, Princeton, and most recently Harvard University Libraries) continues to strengthen operations and develop a vision for the partnership going forward. Such activities include developing policies and procedures for the larger print repository network, open source technical infrastructure to manage collections sharing, serials holdings analysis and data remediation processes, a collaborative collection development model, and enhancements to the resource sharing program. These activities lay the groundwork for and facilitate the next major phase for the consortium: integrating Harvard University Libraries into the ReCAP Shared Collection. In this session, stakeholders from across the consortium will speak to the challenges and opportunities of the partnership, with takeaways informing the conversation about the larger national shared print network.
